These Regulations place duties on owners, employers and agencies to manage the risk from asbestos in their workplace buildings, including carrying out a risk assessment and implementation of a plan to manage asbestos risk.

- Find materials likely to contain asbestos and check their condition
- Make a written record of the location and the condition
- Carry out a risk assessment
- Prepare and implement a plan to manage the asbestos risk
Few companies have either the knowledge or the desire to carry out these onerous tasks.
