Hong Kong
Amber Asbestos Services were employed by the Hong Kong government to work alongside a local asbestos removal company to provide specialist consultancy services on several contracts. These included the removal of sprayed limpet asbestos from Hong Kong University and six schools. Our role was to provide specifications, method statements, risk assessments and project management.
Decent Homes
This is a scheme that guarantees a decent standard of living in social housing. These houses contain many asbestos product including ceilings and floor tiles. Since 2005 Amber has provided project management services to several housing associations and asbestos removal contractors.
Railway Coaches
Amber carried out project management of a major railway coach decommissioning project. This project involved the surveying and removal of asbestos products from 1200 redundant British Rail and London Underground coaches.
Kuwait - Construction of Car Park at Shopping Mall, Kuwait City
Amber has been retained as the specialist asbestos consultant for this project. This involves the decontamination of an area of land originally occupied by Kuwait's only asbestos cement producing factory which was demolished in the 1990's – leaving the site heavily contaminated with asbestos.
Town Halls, Lincolnshire
Project management of asbestos decontamination works in two basements of prestigious council buildings. This project involved lengthy and delicate negotiations with senior council members up to Chief Executive level, unions and staff representatives.
Due to the size of the contract, we also had to resolve EU tendering regulation issues. Both buildings were decontaminated on time and within budget.
